About the certificate
The X-ray Supervisor & Operator Certificate is granted to physicians, physician assistants, podiatrists, and chiropractors, by the California Department of Public Health Radiological Health Branch (RHB).
The certificate allows you to use x-rays in diagnosis and treatment. This includes applications to radiography, bone densitometry, and dermatology.
* If you also perform fluoroscopy, read this article instead.
CME requirements for renewal
To renew your X-ray Supervisor & Operator Certificate, you are required to earn 10 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ in the application of x-rays to the human body.
How to use Orbit to satisfy these requirements
- Sign up for any Orbit X-ray micro plan
- Read 40 abstracts or articles while logged into Orbit, including any related abstracts on PubMed, open-access articles on PubMed Central, or just the articles we recommend to you.
- During the redeem process, tag all 20 articles with the x-ray tag, so that your certificate reflects the specific topic requirement you need.
No need to print out your certificate when you submit your renewal form. In case you're audited, your Orbit account will protect you by keeping detailed record of the CME credit you've earned.
