Colorado state CME Requirements

In Colorado, the only CME requirements are as follows. 

Topic	Credits	Details
Opioid prescribing and abuse	2 credits every two years	Topics should include: Best practices for opioid prescribing Recognition of substance use disorders Referral of patients with substance use disorders for treatment Use of the Electronic Prescription Drug Monitoring Program The following are exempted from this requirement:  Physicians who do not prescribe opioids Physicians maintain a national board certification that requires equivalent substance use prevention training

* On 5/4/23, we confirmed by email with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) that physicians are not required to complete 50 credits every two years for Colorado physician license renewal.
