Welcome to Orbit Radiology! We're looking forward to helping you sail through your ABR SAM/SA-CME, Radiology CME, Subspecialty CME, and state requirements, so you have more time for life beyond the reading room this year.
Getting Started
Kick off your journey into Orbit with this quick start video.
How Orbit lets you earn credit from the reading room
The way Orbit works is that it provides you an automatic way to request AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ for accessing peer-reviewed articles in the course of diagnosing and treating your patients. At some hospitals, this type of credit requires that you fill out a PDF detailing your visit and manually submitting to the medical staff office. With Orbit, this traditional process is automated.

Whenever you submit a visit to an eligible peer-reviewed article, you'll have the opportunity to earn 0.5 credits for visiting the article by visiting the feed to redeem your visits. These visits are processed and loaded onto your feed every 30 minutes.

Radiology requirements satisfied by Orbit
The credits you earn through Orbit are AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ that are certified by Tufts University School of Medicine. Here are some common requirements you can satisfy with Orbit:
- ABR radiology-related CME
- ABR self-assessment requirement (SAM/SA-CME)
- MQSA/ACR requirement for breast imaging related CME
- Fluoroscopy credit in the state of California
- State medical board requirements
- Cardiac CT requirement for on-boarding to read Cardiac CT at many hospitals
Eligible sites
This list of eligible sites allows you to submit requests for credit from all of the most widely read journals in radiology, as well as Radiopaedia. Some radiologists also search for the latest articles on PubMed (free), and every abstract you read on PubMed counts for 0.5 Category 1 CME.
To request credit, log into your Orbit plugin at the start of your shift. Your requests will be automatically generated and sent for processing in the normal course of your searches from the reading room.
