How do I get started with Orbit Anesthesiology Graduation Gifts?

Congratulations on graduating residency or fellowship! Your program has coordinated with Orbit to give you one full year of ABA-approved patient safety credits completely free of charge.

1. Use your personal email address to sign up for the Safety Micro plan here. Make note of your Orbit username/password.
2. Your $30 discount covering your first year will apply at the credit card screen.
3. (optional) Download the Orbit CME app from the App Store (iPhone or iPad), and login with your Orbit username/password.
4. Go to your Profile view and add your ABA ID number. This turns on auto-sync to your portal at the ABA.
5. Visit and study any eligible peer-reviewed article on patient safety. Articles are detected automatically, and sent to your Earn tab in batches every 10 minutes, where you can redeem your detected articles for credit (0.5 credits per article). Use the ABA Patient Safety topic tag when redeeming so that your credits are properly registered.
6. You can also review peer-reviewed articles from any topic to satisfy the rest of your MOCA® 2.0 credit requirement. Upgrade to Basic or Pro (cheaper per credit) to take care of all of your credits from one spot.

When should I get started with Orbit Anesthesiology?

Wait until you are board certified. You can start your account immediately after that - setting a calendar event to occur around that time with a link to these instructions will help you remember.

What are my CME requirements once I'm ABA board certified?

The MOCA 2.0 program from the ABA specifies your requirements after board certifications. You'll need 25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ per year, and 20 ABA-approved credits in patient safety during your ten-year cycle, which begins the day after you become board certified.

Yes. All credit earned in Orbit satisfies MOCA 2.0 requirements.
